Leave a False Name

A Thesis, Providence, RI

Leave a False Name is a thesis that considers the role of public art in the contested formation of community identity.

Leave a False Name leads with an academic essay that critiques the reciprocal process wherein public art is used to represent cohesive cultural identies in a given locale, and in turn, how community identity crystalizes around a public artwork and the identity of its maker.

Leave a False Name then documents a series of public art projects I completed in Providence, Rhode Island.
